Things to Do in Papillion With Kids
Papillion punches above its weight for family fun. Parks, pools, go-karts, and more just south of Omaha, from Halleck Park to the Papio Bay Aquatic Center.
Papillion punches way above its weight for family fun. This Sarpy County suburb just south of Omaha is packed with parks, pools, and enough to fill a whole summer of Saturdays. Here's where to take the kids.
Start at Halleck Park, the crown jewel. It's 70 acres near downtown Papillion with walking trails, playgrounds, pickleball courts, picnic shelters, and a scenic pond. You could spend a whole morning here and not run out of things to do, and it doesn't cost a thing.
When it's hot, and in a Nebraska summer it will be, head to the Papio Bay Aquatic Center right there in Halleck Park. It's open Memorial Day through Labor Day and has waterslides, diving boards, and a zero-depth pool that's perfect for wading in with little ones. There's even a wading pool with a butterfly slide for the smallest swimmers. Admission runs $6.00 for ages 17 to 54, $5.00 for ages 3 to 16 and folks 55 and up, and it's free for kids 2 and under. There's also a twilight rate on weekdays after 5:30 p.m.: $5.00 for adults and $4.00 for youth ages 3 to 16 and folks 55 and up (as of July 2026).
Also in Halleck Park is Papio Fun Park, and this one's a blast. Go-karts, mini-golf, batting cages, and a water wars battle zone, open year-round. It's the kind of place where you can burn an afternoon and everybody leaves happy and worn out.
For the indoor days, Papillion Landing is the community rec center and field house, with something for every age and energy level. And in the summer, the SumTur Amphitheater hosts concerts, including the Mayor's Concert Series in 2026, for an easy free evening out.
Here's the tip. In summer, do the park in the morning while it's cool, break for lunch, then hit the pool in the afternoon heat. You'll get the best of both, and the kids will sleep hard that night.
Then go make a day of it in Papillion.
Prices and hours change, so always confirm the latest on each place's official website before you go — the figures in this guide are current as of July 2026.
