Aksarben Village for Families

Green space, a splash feature, food, and free summer concerts, all walkable. How to spend an easy family afternoon at Omaha's Aksarben Village.

Aksarben Village is one of those spots that just works for a family afternoon. Green space, food, a splash of water play, and it's all walkable. Park once and let the kids loose. Here's how to make a day of it.

The heart of it is Stinson Park. There's a playground for the kids to burn off energy and a water feature to cool down in when the summer heat is doing its thing. It's a big open green space that hosts concerts and festivals all season, so there's often something going on. On Sunday mornings, the Omaha Farmers Market sets up here from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., early May through mid-October (as of July 2026). Grab some fruit, let the kids pick a treat, and wander.

If you're around on a summer Saturday, the free Saturdays @ Stinson concert series brings live music from local Omaha bands right to the park. Bring a blanket, spread out on the grass, and let the little ones dance up front. Free is a beautiful word when you've got a whole family in tow.

When everybody gets hungry, Inner Rail Food Hall is the easy answer. It's nine different vendors under one roof with indoor and outdoor seating, so one kid gets a burger, one gets momos, somebody gets Indian, and you finally get to sit. The open, casual setup means nobody's stressing about the kids being kids.

Want to keep it active? The Keystone Trail runs right through the area, a flat paved path that's perfect for a family bike ride, a stroller walk, or letting a new rider practice. It connects to other Omaha trails if you want to go longer.

Here's the tip. Aksarben is at its best on a summer weekend, when the market's open, the concert's on, and the water feature's running. Pack water, sunscreen, and a blanket, and plan to just hang out. It's not a rush-around kind of place. It's a settle-in-and-stay-a-while kind of place.

Then go enjoy an easy Omaha afternoon.

Prices and hours change, so always confirm the latest on each place's official website before you go — the figures in this guide are current as of July 2026.
